Early Life

Dr. Karen Keane was born and raised in southern New Jersey. She is the 5th of 6 children who grew up near Philadelphia in Haddonfield, NJ. Coming from such a large family, she learned to multitask at an early age. Haddonfield is a small town with all the cultural and recreational opportunities of a large city just a short ride away. She remains a fan of the Phillies, Flyers and Sixers.

Dr Karen loves to cook and serves her family a wide variety of cuisine from around the world. She is particularly proud of her Italian dishes with meatballs that are "better than your mama's!" She is an avowed birdwatcher and really enjoys watching the constant stream of birds to her backyard feeders. She is also an avid runner and spends time daily on her treadmill at home. Following the various sporting activities of her two daughters fills up many of her weekends. She also follows with pride her son's achievements at Virginia Tech in pursuit of a career in Architecture. Go Hokies!
