Sea Island Pediatrics Families and Friends,
Sea Island Pediatrics is actively monitoring COVID-19 along with the daily changes from the CDC and SCDHEC. We are changing office policies to protect our Patients, Families and Staff. We are open for office visits, Well and Sick. The following rules are set up to protect our Patients. We are set up to see patients by telemedicine virtual health care and by telephone calls for some illnesses.

During this time we are encouraging everyone to please stay up-to-date on vaccinations!! We believe in the importance of vaccines in preventing the spread of potentially harmful, yet preventable, diseases. For the safety of our patients and families our office has taken various measures to help keep everyone safe. Well visit appointments are being scheduled during times when ill patients are not in the building. Car seats, strollers, and other things with hard surfaces that can potentially carry germs are not permitted in the office at this time. Also, when arriving for your appointment you will find our office doors locked. This helps us prevent having too many people in the waiting room at once, gives us opportunities to sanitize between visits, and helps to minimize contact between patients. We thank you for your understanding, cooperation, and patience.

Well Visits:
Well appointments will be scheduled for mornings, though if required we will attempt to accommodate later visits when sick patients will not be in the office. We are pre-screening all patients before they enter the building. If a patient is scheduled for a Well Visit and is sick, that patient will be re-scheduled to another time. We are presently not testing for COVID-19 in the office, we may refer patients to a dedicated testing site if needed.

Sick Visits:
Sick patients are being scheduled in the afternoon. Each sick child will be pre-screened on the telephone. If the provider decides the child may be at risk for COVID-19 the provider may see the child in the car and/or refer to a screening facility.
